Mane'ly Racing- Your yearling, 08241-Offshore Romance, was playing a little too hard in the pasture and slipped on some loose grass that had mud underneath after a sudden downpour. She severely bruised her back. It is recommended that she take 6-10 months of stall rest (no free turnout) and pool rehabilitation. Her racing debut may also have to be stepped back a few months next year, because she cannot be started until spring, depending on recovery.
Silver Lakes Farm-Your colt, 01572 Knights Bay, has developed a severe cribbing disorder over the past few years. He has developed severe colic. It is life threatening but if you chose to operate he has a 45% chance to life and he will never race again-the surgery will cost $35,000 (with all medication, hospitalization, transport, etc), if you chose so. But if you decline surgery he can be humanely put down and given proper burial for $1,500. Please respond with your answer.
