The day of the Preakness brought much excitement as the crowd stood watching what would happen. The Kentucky Derby winner, Roadie was the runaway favorite.
As the horses leaped out of the gate, Leaping Lucifer had the lead, with Roadie on his tail. Star of the Show was third. Roadie soon gained on his stablemate and surpassed him. Roadie held on to first to win the Preakness Stakes. Leaping Lucifer remained second and Star of the Show finished in third. Cherokee Delight and Operative Strike traded places several times to finish fourth and fifth. The same question was in everyone's mind. Would Roadie win the Kentucky Derby?
As for the Black Eyed Susan, the results were much the same. Kentucky Oaks winner, Blarney Stone broke third, than moved up to second, then first. Make Believe held on to second for the entire race, only backing down to third once. House Trick broke first, than let her lead go to Blarney Stone. She finished third. Broadway Belle ran a lackluster race in 4th for the entire trip. And Blarney Stone takes the Black Eyed Susan. She goes for the Triple Tiara in her next out.
