The day dawned overcast, thinking the sun might burn through , the crowds were disapointed, there was a deluge of rain making the track into soup, that didnt stop the horses from running a great race though.
Coming out of the gate , Leaping Lucifer , Evening Gold and Roadie were fighting for the lead, changing places several times before settling down into a full race, Roadie still undefeated finally took the lead from his stable mate Leaping Lucifer by 3 1/4 lengths, meanwhile Leaping Lucifer and EVening Gold were fighting it out for second and third places , they made up some ground but mud took its toll and Evening Gold dropped back to 5th place leaving Star of the Show and Dynamic Cat fighting it out midpack, leaving Roadie to sweep by the finish line by 2 3/4 lengths .. what an exciting race!!
